The Region 5 REPT received approval for federal funding to purchase two 8x16 foot trailers to house and transport animal shelter equipment. The equipment will include cages, bowls, leashes and other durable small animal equipment. In the next budget session we plan to request funds for large animal rescue equipment. One trailer will be stationed in Torrington which has a Memorandum-of-Understanding for this purpose with the Region 5 REPT. The Town of Ridgefield has agreed to take custody of the second trailer and final approvals are pending.
